Convincing My Spouse to Use MountainAir™

“Oh. . . I forgot. You’re going to be sequestering yourself downstairs.”
“We could move the thing upstairs.”
“No. You can’t. It’ll be too loud. It will be in the way.”

This is how a conversation with my wife went, regarding my impending usage of the MountainAir™ Complete System.

Losing excess weight and fat, as well as keeping off the weight I’ve already lost, are very important to me. That’s why I was so excited to discover Mountain Air Health and their altitude simulation weight-loss technology.

Unfortunately, my wife’s apprehensions since I first mentioned the idea have been quite a challenge.

When I first learned about Mountain Air Health’s revolutionary altitude simulation technology I was beyond curious about the benefits I could gain from its use.

I showed it to my wife and did the best I could to explain the science behind it. I told her that a company near us in Boulder, Colorado has come up with a non-invasive and safe method for sustainable weight loss by creating relative altitude within our bedroom. I also explained the additional benefit of increased cardiovascular endurance. It was an obvious win-win in my eyes.

I was psyched, but my wife wasn’t as thrilled with the idea as I was. She had some reservations.

The delivery date came, and with it the arrival of my MountainAir™ Complete System.

I brought home the package which included one large, heavier box and two lighter moderately-sized ones. My wife looked at the boxes curiously and immediately located the owner’s manual. She read through it in its entirety.

“Did you know the machine is going to be loud?” she asked me, as she looked up from the book.

“I was informed of that, yes. It should be fine.”

“Well, I don’t want it to disturb anyone in the house. It’s not going in our room.”

I attempted to recover. I really wanted to set up the MountainAir™ in our bedroom.

“It has plenty of hose,” I countered. “We can place the air separation unit far enough from the room that it doesn’t bother anyone. It can go down the hall.”

She still wasn’t sold. “What if there’s a home emergency? It will be right in the way.”

I believed this wasn’t true. The air separation unit could have been positioned out of the walkway. Granted, the hoses and silencer would have been in the hall.

I had to respect my wife’s position. There are also others who sleep in our house besides us, and I know what they say about a happy wife.

What my wife was saying was more about her preconceptions than it was about the MountainAir™ itself. I relented and admitted temporary defeat, “Fine. I’ll set it up in the guest room.”

Regardless of her not getting into the idea of sleeping in the MountainAir™ Complete System, my wife was beyond supportive. She is my partner and my best friend. She knows better than anyone else in the world how important my health and weight are to me. She agreed to assist me in setting the system up.

Later that night we were ready to unbox the MountainAir™. I read the owner’s manual myself. The installation instructions are clearly written and easy to follow. They even include images that make understanding the instructions a breeze.

It took the two of us just under thirty minutes to assemble the enclosure. It immediately reminded us of a camping tent. We had the machine, hoses, and silencer up and running in another ten and we only needed five minutes more to familiarize ourselves with the air separation unit’s operations.

Once the air separation unit was switched on, we let it run for the manual’s recommended 90 minutes. We had to adjust the dial on the air separation unit a couple of times before we reached the correct internal altitude for my first night’s sleep.

When the oxygen level stabilized I got ready for bed. I was ready to retire for my first night’s sleep in the enclosure.

I got settled into my bed. Shortly after, my wife came downstairs to check on me. She was curious about how I was doing. She took one glance at me in the tent and then gave me a strange look.

Part of her felt humor at seeing me inside of the enclosure. She told me I reminded her of the “Bubble Boy” from Seinfeld. Another part of her knew she would miss me as she slept alone in our bed upstairs.

A final part of her was worried. She had concerns for my health and safety. This was new and unfamiliar technology. Her concerns even affected me as well for a moment. Then I reminded myself and her that lots of people live in and visit extreme altitudes regularly. I put myself at ease. I hope I did the same for her as well.

Even though my wife had her reservations about the MountainAir™, I greatly appreciated her assistance in setting up the system. I’m also grateful for her open-minded understanding of the unusual curiosities and journeys I occasionally find myself indulging in.

As it turns out, Mountain Air Health, in their attempts at full disclosure, overstated how loud the air separation unit actually is. I do appreciate their honest self-assessment, but the machine’s rhythmic breathing didn’t bother me in the least. I had no trouble falling asleep to the ambient sound of the unit pulsing just outside the spare bedroom door.

I slept wonderfully that first night using the MountainAir™. I’ve already spent two nights sleeping comfortably in the elevation tent. I wake up each morning energized. I’m able to hop right out of bed and am ready for whatever will come throughout my day.

The MountainAir™ is still currently in the spare bedroom. However, my wife may yet come around when she sees the results and all the additional energy I have been enjoying from using it.
